Soulbound is an indie pixel-art MMORPG combining classic MMO social elements with cozy gaming vibes. We seek an enthusiastic Community Manager to build and foster our player base from the ground up, serving as the engaging representative on platforms like Discord, TikTok, Twitter/X, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, and Steam. This position involves crafting strategies, executing campaigns, hosting events, and ensuring players feel deeply connected to the game’s launch and evolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an established community exceeding 25,000 members and guide a team of moderators and volunteers.
- Handle communications on releases, updates, and events across diverse platforms.
- Organize 2-3 interactive events such as housing displays, costume competitions, group activities, and photo contests.
- Conduct targeted outreach to influencers via email, monitor replies, and nurture partnerships.
- Develop and publish genuine discussions on Reddit forums like r/MMORPG, r/indiegaming, r/pixelart, and r/cozygaming.
- Compile weekly reports on feedback patterns, community sentiment, content effectiveness, and expansion metrics.
- Oversee the Community Hub to sustain engagement.
- Partner with guilds on external sites to incorporate them into Soulbound.
- Design Discord interaction features including guilds, factions, challenges, rankings, and incentives.
- Feature user-created materials like artwork highlights, home tours, style showcases, and humor collections.
- Direct a program for content creators with perks like early access and promotions.
- Relay player input to developers for game improvements.
- Establish training for team public interactions.
- Administer social media with scheduling tools for engaging posts.
- Teammate with creators and streamers to produce and promote content.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience playing MMOs, including guild participation, understanding of housing, cosmetics, endgame mechanics, and retention factors; able to name five MMOs and their strengths.
- Experience leading a Discord server with over 5,000 users, including moderation, event coordination, bot setup, and crisis management.
- Background in video game community management, preferably during a launch.
- Proficiency in creating short-form videos using tools like CapCut, Premiere, or DaVinci for platforms like TikTok or Reels.
- Grasp of meme culture with an authentic, personal communication style.
- Proactive initiative, such as responding to relevant online discussions independently.
- Resilience to handle challenging community feedback constructively, with media training experience.
- Commitment to extensive in-game playtesting.
