We are seeking a UI/UX Designer with advanced Figma skills and a proven portfolio of delivered websites. The role involves full-cycle ownership of client website design, establishing Figma standards, and creating high-quality digital experiences for a range of medical practice brands. This is a fully remote mid-senior individual contributor position with a preference for candidates near Chicago.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end website design from information architecture and user flows through wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and interactive prototypes
- Create mobile-first, responsive layouts across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints
- Lead interaction and visual design, shaping site usability and aesthetics
- Simplify complex briefs into balanced, strategic design solutions and include microcopy and content hierarchy
- Build professional-grade Figma files with clear structure, named layers, components, auto layout, variables, and design tokens
- Develop and maintain scalable component libraries and design systems for multiple client brands
- Apply typography, hierarchy, color, composition, and contrast with precision
- Produce clickable prototypes and document micro-interactions and motion for clear developer handoff
- Present work confidently in design reviews, explain decisions, incorporate feedback, and iterate rapidly
- Design to WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive principles by default
- Deliver clean developer specs for spacing, typography, states, and assets and collaborate with developers through implementation
- Source and generate visual assets using AI tools when needed
- Adapt designs across varied client brand systems and remain current on design trends and AI-assisted tools
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of professional UI/UX design experience, ideally in agency or multi-client environments
- Expert Figma proficiency including prototyping, auto layout, variables, tokens, variants, components, and design system maintenance
- Strong portfolio demonstrating shipped websites, UI craft, interaction design, design systems, and information architecture
- Solid visual design fundamentals in typography, hierarchy, color, composition, and contrast
- Strong skills in information architecture, user flows, and mobile-first responsive design
- Ability to design and communicate motion and micro-interactions
- Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design
- Experience turning ambiguous briefs into strategic design decisions
- Proven developer handoff practices and collaboration with front-end developers
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Comfort sourcing and generating imagery with AI tools
- Self-directed and reliable in a fully remote setting
