The Integrated Communications Intern collaborates with the Vice President to craft and implement external communication plans aimed at enhancing the GENYOUth brand, securing corporate partnerships, producing captivating social media posts, and increasing media visibility in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage content calendars for social platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram under VP supervision
- Craft and visually design social media posts incorporating videos, photos, and infographics
- Gather and organize video footage from various sources to produce mission-driven social content
- Conduct daily monitoring, amplification, and sharing of social media activity
- Analyze social media metrics and utilize monitoring tools for insights
- Conduct research and prepare documents, recommendations, and presentation materials such as one-sheets and PowerPoint slides
- Support earned media efforts by researching contacts, developing pitches, outreach, and tracking coverage
- Assist with live and virtual events, including occasional travel
- Analyze data, edit documents, and compile bi-weekly updates and project summaries in Word and PowerPoint
- Collaborate on research projects and briefings for the CEO
- Apply creative ideas to promote GENYOUth’s National Youth Council on social media
Qualifications
- Strong organizational, research, and reporting abilities
- Proficiency in storytelling and writing for diverse audiences
- Expertise in social media, particularly LinkedIn
- Skills in networking and building media relationships
- Experience with digital publishing
- Competence in video shooting and editing using mobile devices
- Familiarity with graphic tools like Canva for enhancing social content
- Eagerness to learn, contribute, and share ideas confidently in team meetings
- Enrollment in a U.S. degree program as a senior with 3.0 GPA minimum, graduation by Dec 2026 or May 2026
- Residence in Mountain, Central, or Eastern time zones
- Previous internship with passion for social media content creation and management
- Interest in nonprofit management, CSR, youth health, PR, or media relations preferred
