The Pursuits Manager oversees the operational execution of business development pursuits, including pipeline tracking, proposal workflow coordination, workload management for Business Development Coordinators, and delivery of high-quality pursuit materials. The role also serves as pursuit leader on assigned opportunities while driving logistics, scheduling, and internal collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage pursuit pipeline and assign opportunities to coordinators based on workload, skillset, and location alignment.
  • Track progress of active proposals to ensure schedules, milestones, and quality standards are met.
  • Identify, download, track, and distribute RFPs/RFQs and opportunity notices across assigned markets.
  • Lead assigned pursuits from kickoff through submission, interview, and debrief.
  • Coordinate proposal content, graphics, resumes, and project experience with technical teams while ensuring compliance with branding and client requirements.
  • Arrange internal reviews, red teams, and executive approvals.
  • Balance coordinator workloads and identify resource gaps in collaboration with BD leadership.
  • Coordinate training and mentor junior coordinators on proposal processes and best practices.
  • Track win/loss data, debrief feedback, and support continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in proposal development, pursuit management, or A/E marketing operations.
  • Strong process management, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, CRM, and BD systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
