In this maternity cover role, you will join the buying team at Freddie’s Flowers to procure flowers and supporting products timely and in line with forecasts, ensuring quality, minimal waste, and effective supplier coordination while collaborating closely with warehouse operations in a vibrant, expanding floral subscription business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high engagement and drive within the team
- Optimize purchase order quantities to reduce waste
- Track open purchase orders for on-time delivery, resolving issues and communicating proactively
- Adjust orders based on inventory and scheduling changes
- Calculate stock levels considering forecasts, demand fluctuations, and lead times
- Oversee warehouse shelf life and out-of-life performance metrics
- Facilitate clear communication with suppliers and operations for stock planning
- Manage material transitions during product changes
- Handle fust management with suppliers
- Document all processes for thorough analysis
- Lead improvements in fulfillment operations
- Complete all required process documentation on schedule, including fulfillment, flower costs, and fust
- Provide documented comparisons of planned versus actual supplier and inbound activities
- Deliver supplier performance data
- Report variances and optimize ordering to minimize waste
- Enhance stock control and inter-team communication between buying and warehouse
- Proactively address potential issues
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in FMCG, flowers, or fresh produce
