Key Responsibilities
- Establish vision and clarify roles for the DevRel team to ensure focused ownership and outcome-driven goals.
- Develop a content strategy emphasizing framework adoption over mere metrics like views.
- Lead Laravel’s positioning in AI coding tools by creating and implementing strategies to become the recommended backend framework, including monitoring and refinement.
- Manage authentic community interactions on platforms like Discord, X, and Reddit to foster genuine participation.
- Design a systematic process for gathering and delivering community feedback and feature requests to the product team regularly.
- Monitor and analyze community health metrics to assess growth, trends, and influencing factors.
- Identify and strengthen ties with key ecosystem contributors, leaders, and partners through a structured collaboration approach.
- Build personal credibility and recognition within the Laravel developer community.
Qualifications
- Over five years of experience managing teams of at least three members in dynamic settings with limited supervision.
- Proven director-level expertise in translating high-level objectives into actionable plans and team execution.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying user-facing software applications, with open-source contributions preferred; willingness to learn Laravel if not already proficient.
- Deep understanding of developer tool selection processes, AI’s impact on decisions, and strategies to drive adoption.
- Established involvement in developer communities through contributions on forums, social media, conferences, or open-source projects, beyond corporate roles.
- Capability to produce educational technical content, such as blog posts or tutorials.
- Balanced leadership style as a player-coach, engaging directly when necessary.
