An experienced Creative Director specializing in direct-response copy will collaborate with the Co-Founder to spearhead messaging and creative strategy, oversee production, and enhance conversion performance across all customer interactions in a rapidly growing online coaching company.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop messaging strategy and copy architecture across the funnel from cold traffic to conversion
- Create campaign concepts, hooks, angles, and creative strategies for evergreen and launch initiatives
- Establish scalable systems including Brand Voice Playbook, frameworks, templates, and SOPs
- Write and edit performance copy for paid ads, landing pages, VSL/webinar scripts, email sequences, and YouTube scripts
- Review and refine founder-created content with strategic edits and feedback
- Develop frameworks and templates for scalable and consistent copy production
- Brief and direct copywriters, video editors, and designers to ensure high execution standards
- Maintain creative vision, quality, and speed across all outputs, including potential rehiring
- Run reviews and deliver clear, actionable feedback to contractors
- Build and maintain Brand Voice Playbook and messaging guidelines
- Own quality assurance and final approvals across all channels, including proofing, links, formatting, tone, and claims verification
- Provide final sign-off before publishing any content
- Collaborate with Media Buyer to test and iterate based on performance metrics like CTR, CVR, VSL watch time, booking rate, and revenue per lead/call
- Conduct voice-of-customer research and incorporate insights into high-converting messaging
Qualifications
- 7 years of professional direct-response copywriting experience in high-ticket online education, coaching, or similar services
- Proven track record of building $1M+ high-ticket funnels including book-a-call, webinar, and VSL formats
- Proven experience conducting voice-of-customer research and developing high-converting angles
- Experience managing creative QA processes with final approval ownership
- Experience using AI tools to boost output while maintaining quality
- Proven track record managing team members, including hiring, onboarding, and offboarding
- Experience owning creative direction across the entire company and marketing channels
- Must have personally developed hooks, lead mechanisms, objection stacks, offer positioning, and conversion flow logic
- Able to capture, protect, and elevate a founder-led brand voice
- Highly analytical and optimization-focused
- Confident in providing direct, constructive, and data-driven feedback
- Detail-oriented with strong QA instincts
- Comfortable with platform standards and responsible marketing claims
- Clear, reliable communicator with strong async habits using tools like Slack and Loom
- Nice to have: First-hand experience of long-term marriage dynamics for nuanced audience writing
