Manage retention and lifecycle marketing initiatives for a mission-driven DTC brand in health and wellness, focusing on email strategies to enhance customer loyalty and lifetime value in a remote US-based role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement retention-focused lifecycle strategies and campaigns to boost repeat purchases, reduce churn, and increase customer lifetime value.
- Identify lifecycle gaps and drop-off points, create customer journey maps, and leverage behavioral data for strategies that strengthen loyalty and retention.
- Oversee daily management and optimization of retention programs including post-purchase, replenishment, cross-sell, upsell, win-back, subscription reactivation, and customer education flows.
- Support acquisition-related lifecycle touchpoints such as opt-ins, welcome flows, and abandoned cart programs to foster long-term customer value.
- Create post-purchase education strategies to guide successful product use, engagement, and brand value understanding.
- Design, build, and optimize email templates and campaigns for visual impact, brand consistency, and deliverability throughout the customer journey.
- Apply advanced segmentation, personalization, and dynamic content to deliver targeted messaging that enhances engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
- Conduct A/B tests on lifecycle programs and implement optimizations based on performance data, customer behavior, and best practices.
- Maintain retention dashboard, analyze metrics like open rates, click-through rates, conversions, revenue, retention, and lifetime value, and provide insights for improvements.
- Monitor and optimize deliverability, inbox placement, and subscriber health to ensure channel performance and reach.
- Keep abreast of lifecycle and email marketing trends, recommending new tools, technologies, and strategies for better performance and customer experience.
- Collaborate with Customer Experience, Product, E-commerce, Subscription, and Creative teams to enhance retention and customer journeys.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business Administration, Psychology or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in email marketing, emphasizing lifecycle and retention for DTC e-commerce brands in health, supplement, and wellness CPG.
- Proven track record in developing lifecycle strategies that improve repeat purchases, reduce churn, and grow lifetime value.
- Hands-on expertise in owning and optimizing retention programs including post-purchase, replenishment, cross-sell, upsell, win-back, subscription reactivation, and education flows.
- Expert proficiency in Klaviyo for advanced segmentation, automation, personalization, and deliverability practices.
- Strong experience with Figma for designing, building, and optimizing email templates, including email UX, mobile responsiveness, inbox rendering, and QA.
- Robust analytical skills for interpreting performance metrics, using behavioral data for opportunities, and analyzing A/B tests.
- Experience in monitoring and optimizing deliverability, inbox placement, and subscriber health.
- Exceptional attention to detail, project management skills for handling priorities, accuracy, and timely high-quality delivery.
- Strong verbal and written communication to explain insights, technical aspects, and recommendations to non-technical audiences.
- Proactive, resourceful, independent worker in fast-paced remote settings with strong problem-solving and anticipation skills.
- Bonus: Interest or experience in holistic nutrition, health science, biology, functional medicine, or supplements; understanding of conversion-driven messaging, DTC psychology, retention levers, and CRO; experience with UTM tracking, Google Analytics, Mixpanel; graphic design and Figma; HTML/CSS for email; project management certification.
