The Retention Marketing Specialist I owns day-to-day production of email and SMS campaigns, ensuring timely execution, clean builds, and optimized customer journeys for DTC brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end production of email campaigns and automated flows including project management, content planning, copy briefs, HTML builds, QA, and scheduling
  • Build and deploy emails in Klaviyo or similar ESPs, write on-brand copy, create design briefs, and maintain the monthly content calendar
  • Drive timelines with clients and ensure assets and approvals remain on track while working cross-functionally with design, strategy, and client teams
  • Support the Retention Marketing Strategist through performance data analysis, reporting, and development of optimization recommendations
  • Build automated workflows, segmentation logic, and maintain list hygiene using behavioral and transactional data

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in retention marketing across email, SMS, CRM, or loyalty programs
  • Hands-on experience with Email Service Platforms, strong Klaviyo preference
  • Strong DTC e-commerce copywriting skills with ability to adapt tone across client brands
  • Solid understanding of email analytics and translating insights into actionable strategy
  • Clear distinction between marketing campaigns and automated flows, plus proficiency in segmented list building
  • Experience working with Shopify or Shopify-based clients and tools like Yotpo, Loyalty Lion, JustUno, and Privy
  • Proactive, organized, and collaborative approach with focus on the full customer journey in fast-paced environments
