Trail of Bits seeks a Technical Marketing Manager to oversee daily marketing for AppSec, AI/ML Security, and Research & Engineering practices, collaborating with engineering and go-to-market teams to transform security research into engaging content like blog posts, social campaigns, and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor engineering outputs, tool releases, research papers, and talks to ensure comprehensive coverage through blogs, social threads, newsletters, and other formats.
- Address backlog of unpublished tools and research by creating case studies, briefs, blog drafts, and assets for technical and business audiences, including hands-on writing.
- Collaborate with Technical Editing on content pipelines and provide writing support as needed; manage content calendar across practices for consistent publishing.
- Manage social media on X, LinkedIn, and Bluesky, including posting, community engagement, and audience growth.
- Oversee event presence, including promotion, on-site coordination, speaker preparation, and post-event follow-up to generate leads.
- Develop and execute multi-channel demand generation campaigns (social, email, webinars) to drive pipeline; gather customer proof points for sales support.
- Track marketing performance, build dashboards, and report on attribution linking activities to pipeline and revenue.
- Monitor market intelligence in AppSec, AI/ML Security, and Research & Engineering to inform positioning and identify opportunities.
Qualifications
- Marketing or work experience in AppSec, AI/ML Security, or Research & Engineering, with knowledge of key players and technical discussions.
- Active engagement in security communities on X, LinkedIn, or Bluesky.
- Technical writing experience for security audiences, including blogs, vulnerability reports, and tool docs.
- Demand generation experience at security or developer tools companies yielding measurable pipeline.
- Social media management in security communities, handling cadence, engagement, and growth.
- Technical proficiency with GitHub, Markdown, and AI tools like Claude Code.
- Experience in marketing reporting and dashboards connecting activity to pipeline outcomes.
- Hands-on use of HubSpot or similar in B2B security/devtools contexts.
- Familiarity with AI tools for content production, research, and campaigns.
