This role shapes Stio’s overall visual expression across seasonal campaigns, product launches, brand identity, packaging, retail spaces and events, partnering with the Associate Creative Director to deliver distinctive, mountain-life-rooted creative from concept to final asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve Stio’s visual identity, brand guidelines, logo systems, typography, color palettes and design standards
  • Lead creative concepting for seasonal campaigns and product launches, translating strategy into visual frameworks and finished work
  • Art direct and execute packaging, hang tags, labels and print collateral ensuring brand consistency
  • Develop creative direction for new store openings, in-store environments and experiential brand events
  • Create storyboards and visual treatments for video and motion projects, then collaborate with production partners to deliver final assets
  • Provide clear creative direction, mentorship and feedback to internal designers while managing freelancers and external partners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Brand Marketing, Digital, E-commerce, Product and Retail teams to maintain creative consistency

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of art direction or graphic design experience with a portfolio covering brand campaigns, identity systems and digital work
  • Prior experience at a consumer brand in outdoor, apparel, activewear, lifestyle or adjacent categories
  • Proven ability to concept and lead campaigns from brief through final delivery
  • Hands-on experience art directing on-location lifestyle photography and video productions with clear creative decision-making
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to pitch concepts confidently to senior leadership
  • Sharp sense for copy and messaging integration and experience storyboarding video and motion content
  • Deep knowledge of typography, layout, photography, design systems and brand expression across print and digital
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma
  • Comfort with evolving AI creative tools and a collaborative mentorship style for designers of varying experience levels
  • Authentic connection to mountain lifestyle, outdoor culture and Stio’s mission and values
  • Ability to travel up to 4–6 weeks per year
